So there was an accident at work today, one of the other bearded dragons turned on the other little one. He lost almost all his tail..

So I took him home with me : )

He's adjusting well, already basking, doesn't seem to bother him to much. As soon as hes all healed up and has a clean bill of health I'm going to put him up for adoption.. Roy wouldn't like another male in the house,

But here are some photos of the little cutie

Poor baby, Glad you have him instead of dying in with other dragons.
He wouldn't have died, he would have gone to the vet, just as he has, and went into isolation till he was all healed up then adopted out,
but since I already have all the meds at home, we decided just to let me take him.

Im sorry but I find this statement very rude. I take pride in the health of the dragons at my work, but once in a blue moon there are acidents. His sibling turned on himm out of the blue, it rarely hapens at my store since I seprate them at the first signs of trouble.

I didn"t mean to sound rude, but most pet stores would not had cared. Sounds like you work there so if you do good. Glad someone who has experence with beardies can help. I have been to a couple pet stores and the people who work there don't know anything about them. I am lucky the store in my town have people who how to take care of them.

My pet store is different, ever since we have opened,(back in 1998, Ive only been there for two years, but Ive been a customer since they opened.) We have taken the utmost care in our animals, no vet fee is to expensive for us. We even have an in store vet.

I take pride in the animals I sell. I take care of them as if they where my own, as do my coworkers.

Everyone should use this poor baby as an example as to why two dragons shouldn't be house together. Though I know when it comes to pet stores it can be quite hard to not house them together due to limited space, but for everyone who owns them or is about to own more than one should take this story to heart.

I'm glad he's in your care and is on his way to recovery. I would love to adopt him once he gets better but alas, I've been slapped with the dreaded "No" from my significant other  Whoever he ends up with, this baby should be spoiled for the rest of his life.

Wow, what a handsome boy he is! Don't worry about the nub-tail. It's kind of cute :D When it heals, it'll be a more rounded off nub rather than an abrupt slice, like he has now (experience with a nipped beardie tail). At least, that's what happened with my Beardie's nip. You shouldn't have any problems re-homing him. There are plenty of people (like myself) that don't care about Beardie's with nipped tails or missing parts. All I care about is about their personality.

I'm so happy that you decided to take this little bugger home. I wouldn't doubt for a second that your pet store would've taken care of the situation, but it's better that he's in a calmer enviornment with care from you. He'll get one-on-one socialization and care, which'll improve the outcome of his behavior when he grows older. I'm so happy to find that there's a pet store out there that really is informed about their animals. I know of some pet stores that if they had this little guy, they'd leave him in the tank for some more protein for the others. It's the sad, disgusting truth of some places/people.

I'm so happy for you! (Sorry this is a bit lengthy!) Update us on his health every now and then! Good Luck!

So I though I would make my self a bit clearer here just to give some back ground info on my self, and the store,

Out of over 100+ babies we have sold in the last year, he is the only one to have gotten hurt from being house with another dragon, it is a very rare occurrence at our store. If something does happen to them, they go into an isolation room, off the sales floor, where its quite and safe.

I do run a small rescue for abandoned reptiles in my town, and once they are all given a clean bill of health they are adopted out into good permit homes (I screen the owners before hand to make sure.) If they don't get a clean bill of health or have special needs, I have a small group of people (friends and coworkers) who have the time and the money to give them proper homes with vet care and everything.

I also have my adults housed together. They do not fight, there is no aggression, no dominance, they each have their own basking, sleeping, and playing areas. They are not feed in their cage, and are all pushing 350+ Grams (Magentas 450+)

Please do not criticize me or tell me to separate my dragons. My cage is 72 inches long, and there is two layers to their cage, so they have to spaces of 72 inches of fun. My adults are one of the few occasions where housing together works, I have the time and the money to make sure nothing happens.

Ive named the little one Little Boy Blue.. Don't ask why.. I'm not sure myself. He ate some crickets yesterday, and today, along with the little bearded dragon juvenile bites. Hes on one drop of meticam for pain, and antibiotics, and sliver sulfa.

Poor little one...
Great this dragon ended up with you.

Silkworms for this little one!

If only! The only place that I can get them from is Mullberry farms, and with work and class, I cant be home to accept a delivery of them, and its to cold for them to stay on the porch...

Though I do have next week off, so I will be getting some on one of those days,

I think it's kind of neat that you have your own little rescue circle. It's very nice of you to dedicate time or money to animals in need. If I could, I would have 10 Beardies. Unfortunately, I do not have the space, the time, or money for 10 Beardies, So I settled on my Beardie and my brother's.

Your store sounds very dependable, trustworthy, and has overall care towards their animals and I wish it were around where I lived because if it were, I'd only shop there for all my pet needs!

Yeah, I know where you're coming from with the critisism with housing multiple dragons together. I have two baby Beardies that I've had for a month and 5 days, and I'm housing them together until late December. Housing Bearded Dragons together is "frowned upon" and I'm tired of people constantly nagging me to seperate them. I know they're just in it for my Beardie's best interest, but they don't seem to understand that I can't seperate them at this moment in time, but they WILL be seperated. I'm glad that you haven't had any problems with your adults, which proves that there is a chance they can be together happily.

Little Boy Blue sounds really cute for a this little guy. I think it has personality in the name, since I've never heard of a Beardie named Little Boy Blue! You're Beardie is unique; Therefore, he gets a unique name

Let me know when you decide to adopt him out. I am starting a rescue. I have three beardies and as for housing together I knowe everyone on here says no. But book and research I have read says juveniles and adults ( only one male) can be housed together. When I got my last two( both 2) they where together I have thee encloses but I bought the female for my male when I removed the female from the pair I bought, he stopped eating became less active and it wasn't bermenation because they both just came out of bermentation. It took a week to get him to start eating and liven up. Lots of holding and play time.

He will not be going to another rescue. He will be going to a one dragon home where he can get all the love and attention he wants., I already have someone who will be taking him who I have know for over 10 years.

I wouldn't recommend housing males with females, the males will over breed the female. Pairs or small groups of females usually does best. The site creator has a small group of females living together just fine.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
