Mating Time!

1. Is there a specific time that females going into..I dunno I guess call it "heat"?? & how can you tell?
2. Is there a certain & safe age as to when they can being breeding and is there an age that they shouldn't anymore?
3. I've been told not to house two Beardies together..so when they mate, they've obviously got to be together. Is there a period of time that they should be together and when they should be seperated? How long does a mating process take?

Food:

1. I know BD's can eat fruits, veggies, and their cricket diet and whatnot.
Is there any veggies, friuits, and bugs...or ANY food they should absolutely stay away from??
2. What foods are most reccomended.
I've been reading on websites but I also want suggestions from longtime and expierenced Dragon owners as well. =)
3. Any minerals or vitamins that should be given regularly? I've been suggested a few different vitamins and formulas..

Health:
1. Should Beardys have regular vet check-ups? I know definately to bring them if it's urgent, duh!

Friends:
Should Bearded Dragons be exposed to other Dragons for a playmate? Anything they need to keep them company?

Thanks guys for all the help! =)

I'm still new to this but your breeding questions will get answered faster if you ask those under the breeding section.

My beardies are to young yet for breeding. The need to be over 18 months old to safely breed.

http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html thats a link to all foods beardies can and can't eat :D

They need calcium and a multi vit. depends on the age of the beardie to how many days a week each is given.

They should have reg checkups and have fecal test done incase they get parasites or have other health issues.

Beardies are a solitary reptile. Housing two dragons can end in injury and even end in death. All they need for company is you :D

I hope this helps some I'm sure others will post too.

save the link Freeie posted it is very helpful. you shouldn't breed females until 2 years old. here is some more info about the calcium. the type of calcium you use will depend on the type of uvb light you use. if you use the tube type like the reptisun10 use calcium with d3. if you use a mvb like the mega ray or t rex use calcium with out d3. Freeie covered ever thing else. good luck

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
