Litter train?

I was wondering if it would be possible to litter train Simon? I'd like to put a small container of substrate in his tank so he can poo in it. It's hard getting it out of his food dish and it sucks getting it off the carpet that I have in there, especially when I'm not home to take it out right away. He used to poo in his water dish, but I quit putting it in there. I would take it out while I feed him since I don't want him to get impacted. I was thinking maybe the ground up walnut shells for his litter box?

What does everyone think? Good idea or no? I also get tired of him trying to poo on me everytime I take him out... It makes me so nervous... At least he gives me a heads up.

He hates his bath. I've put a towel in there, I've held him. How do I train him to go in the bath? He usually only gets one once a week...

I would not have ground up walnut shells anywhere around my dragons. Way too dangerous! It is easy for me because I am a stay at home wife and have all the time in the world to spend on my dragons and other various loved animals. Mine are actually both housebroke,,,they only go outside. And I live in south Arkansas so its usually warm enough year round.
I really don't know what to tell you....if it were me...I would get or make a small wooden box and put some soil and plant some grass and make it small enough to put in the viv...

I'd love it if I could get him to poo in the bath. How can I get him to like baths more? He doesn't even drink during bath time anymore... I do have a wooden box I can put in there... Maybe I can put something waterproof and paper towels to line it...

What about switching to fake grass carpet? Its the same "reptile carpet" from Petsmart, but I buy it from Lowes, a 25 foot roll for 12$. My beardie also poos in the bath, but when she goes on the carpet, I spot clean it a few times before I just toss the whole carpet and cut a new piece.

I noticed that my 3.5 month old Beardie, Darwin, was consistently - as in 9 times out of 10 - pooping in the same spot in his cage, so a few days ago, I decided to take advantage of it and put in a "litter box" on that spot (the litter is nothing more than a thick layer of paper towels), and he's now 5 for 5 on pooping where I want him to poop. Cleanup is a breeze - take out the soiled layer of paper towels, then put a new layer beneath the bottom layer.

I hope he continues to do this after he gets moved to his adult cage.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
