Evidently I am going to be one of those obsessed beardie mom's so I hope you like the pictures!!!

Yesterday, I tried to get her/it to eat some squash. If she hissed at me I could throw one in and she'd eat it but otherwise it was a no-go. Soooo I put one on her head and she just sat there... Then she decided to get on her hill with the squash still on her head. Hehe... it was toooo cute! The last picture was taken today as she was waiting for a cricket to come around the corner. I've decided it's going to be a she!

I know she's in a small tank - it was a "first" tank to see if I knew what I was doing. My first beardie died after a month so this is try number "2"... so far we are going on 2 months so hopefully in another month or so I'll get her the fullsize tank for permanent living.

I do wish you the best of luck with her though. And I'm sorry that your first one passed away!

I have a new picture to post later today! Thanks for all the comments. I need to get a grater for the vegetables. I do cut them and nuke them a little to make them softer.

Anyway... I keep hearing about the Beardie Blankets and had tried it once with a washcloth and she wanted nothing to do with it. Well last night I remembered I had fleece left over from a baby blanket so I jumbled it all up and put Lindy in it with her head out and plopped her down on her hammock and turned out the light. I was fully expecting her to jump out of it and give me the death glare. However... after leaving her alone she turned around in it with only her tail showing. Beardie Blanket = 1, Lindy = sucked in. Hehehehe.... Sooo now I have to figure out how smaller to make it cause it is HUGE. I was kinda scared she was suffocating cause she was in the middle of the jumbled mess but when I started unwrapping her this morning she just kinda looked at me like I was bothering her. :)

Mommy = 1, Lindy = 0... half the squash was missing... hehehe

Sooo had my first bad pet store experience. It was an old mom/pop type of place but they had phoenix worms and I wanted to try them before ordering some. The place was yucky and they had beardies I wanted to rescue. One was fullgrown with one log in a tank smaller than Lindy's. I felt sooooo bad for it. I paid an arm and a leg for the worms but he loves them so I guess that works. I won't be going back to that store, luckily it's on the wrong side of town for me!

Here's a few pictures... the 1st being the dragon that doesn't like to be wrapped up... but notice all night only thing you could see was the tail! The 2nd is a sexy leg pic! The 3rd is Sneaky wanting to play with Lindy. The 4th is Lindy sitting on the worm bowl wondering what the new worms are. I just thought it was a good picture of him/her/it.

Also, I don't use the stick on thermometers cause i know they are wrong... and the water is dirty cause of dumping crickets in there this morning and the dust going in. It's all clean now. :D

Lol, I love the one of Lindy looking up at the Cat - so adorable - kind of wish my little guy was back to that cute little age again.

Anyway, unless the fleece is absolutely HUGE, I wouldnt worry about cutting it - my Kazi has had a giant fleecy beach towel since he was about 10 weeks old (hes now 6 months) and he literally buries himself in it - he seems to love digging through it, twisting around and basically covering every little piece of himself in his blankie!

BTW - it seems she has 'sexy leg' down to perfection!!!!

Only reason I was going to cut it was because I'm concerned about fire - when I wrapped her up I put her on her hammock and it filled the space between the hammock and the lamp. However, I guess for now it's okay. I need to get a bigger tank in the next month or so.

Lindy is so cute and I love your pictures. Amazing how a little lizard can suck you in so fast huh? She looks very happy with her blankie. Pretty soon you'll be making pillows and a bed for her! :D

Well sadly or not soo sad it's a he not a she. But that's okay. He has his nights where he likes his blankie and other nights he crawls out of it. I was off 5 days over this past weekend and he became really spoiled with getting food throughout the day when he would give me "that look". Now I have to get up earlier and feed him before going to work and then feeding him again when he gets home. I think he's making the change from baby beardie into a more meating looking beardie. He's going through a shed right now where his tail and head are more green and the rest of his body is more dark brown. It's quite funny to look at. Also, last night I got the "what have you been thinking" look. I didn't give him his veggies monday night or tuesday night just because of how busy my nights have been. Last night I took the time and gave him squash, acorn squash and mustard greens and he attacked them. Like "oh boy where have you been all my life" type of eating. Soooooo I guess I have to remember his veggies. He's eating ALOT more than in the past. In the past 100 crickets would last me a week. Nowwwww... they lasted 2 days and I had to go get more tuesday. Those are almost gone too! Aghhhhh. He likes his phoenix worms too but I only give those at night. He's up to about 10 of those. I've got on order more worms and crickets. I finally ordered them off the net rather than going to the store. I hope I can get them the day they come in since I'm in an apt complex. Tomorrow would be great since I'll be working from home and can be at his beck and call again.

I'm beardie whipped!

I got mine at Petsmart - they have small ones and large ones - most places that sell reptile stuff probably have them though - they just stick to the side.

Lindy has finally gone from being a baby beardie to looking more like a juvi beardie... whoo hoo... he's got the oval belly to him now, eating like a pig and being all cute. He still hasn't found the black of his beard - he just puffs it out a little bit. I don't think he's found the headbob either. Last night I laid there staring at him, it was sooo awesome. Of course he was in the middle of eating his worms and wasn't toooo happy with being watched. I need to start thinking about his next cage. I can't decide what to do. He's finally longer than his log to get to his hammock. I think he's about 8.5 inches now - that's an inch growth in like 2 weeks.

I have cute new pictures to post but photobucket and I are arguing over a password. Go figure.

Sooo Lindy has adjusted to his new home - a used 55 gallon tank. I think he likes it. His favorite thing right now is this branch thing I have hanging, he likes to go to the very top and stay there. I've moved his lamps over closer to it to keep him warm. I took him in the shower the other day for fun and I'm not sure if he loved it or hated it. When I held him under the shower it's like he kept jumping up closer to the shower head so I kept having to hold him with one hand and put the other out ready to catch. He's up to 9 inches now... whoo hooo :blob8: and still loving his phoenix worms... whoo hooo! :blob5: He let the kids hold him last night without scurrying so whoo hoo on that too! Only probably I have now is with the larger tank I had to move him so I can no longer lay in bed and watch him, that makes me very sad!

Whoo hoo... I hand fed cilantro to Lindy - that's the first time he has ever eaten from me.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
