Hello all,

I have a question about bathing. I know it is not required on a daily basis, and that different dragons enjoy the water to varying degrees. Is there any reason NOT to bathe daily if the dragon enjoys it? I'm talking like a quick 5 minute morning swim under supervision as opposed to a 30 minute soak.

I'm asking because Sir Henry has been running around his enclosure all morning like a mad man, which I was chalking up to the "spring fever" I have been reading about. Giving him free roam exploring time, followed by snuggles, did not seem to help much. So we put him in the tub for a swim for about 5 minutes then put him back in his enclosure after drying him off. The crazy maniac activity has stopped and he is happily basking. We have no problem with it being a part of the daily morning routine if it will not harm him to be in the water that frequently.

All temps via temp gun, uvb levels, lighting distance, etc. are as suggested during previous questions I have asked. He is eating and pooping normally, and getting his usual time out of cage for snuggling and exploring.

Too many baths can dry out the scales --- I would limit them -- most on here dont bath very often - some only when absolutely necessary like when they poop all over them selves -- its good he enjoys the bathing -- some others on here can advise on this as well

Thank you. I had read information both for more or less bathing a week so figured I would ask to be sure. We already cut down from the daily that was recommended by Petco (them again!) because it seemed like too much. We have been doing two/three times a week depending on if he is super itchy from shedding.

I was really surprised it calmed him down today. He truly does seem to enjoy it. We're talking swimming around, not scrambling to get out by trying to climb up the side. We have one of those deep tubs from the 70's with the big square knobs, where it is deep at one end, but can be totally out of water at the other. He will go back and forth from the deep end to the dry end. He is NEVER left in there without either Tori or I right there watching him.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
