Lighting

I have tried just about every lighting company's bulbs. My last (2) were Zoo Med 100w & 150w.
150w lasted @ 6 weeks
So, I cut back to 100w, bought for $20.74 on November 01, 2023.
Box states "last up to 2,000 hours"
My lighting is set for 12 hours per day.
Therefore, 2000 divided by 12 = 166.66666 days of lighting to be used.
I got 38days, 456 hours out of the 2000 hours.
Of course, I will be returning the bulb for an exchange.
Finally, here's are my questions... Can I get a recommendation for a basking bulb that last longer than 1 month?
What brand is everyone using with a long life?
Thanks

The Zoo Meds seem to burn out quicker - I use Flukers basking - also used Exo Terra Intense but they are way more spendy than the Flukers - I have not tried the Arcadia Halogens- I get my Flukers from Pet Mountain and they are $ 5.09 for a 150 bulb

It could be your domes. If they fit tight around the buld it can over heat them. Also look inside the socket of the dome, the contacts tend to corrode over time, it causes high resistance in the circuit and can cause the bulbs to blow.
Also if you have a top opening tank, shuffling they bulbs when you open the tank will cause it.

In addition to XP's comment, make sure your fixture is rated for over the wattage of the bulb. Higher wattage bulbs will work in low wattage fixtures but will burn out quickly.

I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
