so i just traded for this awesome new terrarium from a guy i found through Craigslist
the tank itself measures 25 inches tall, 25 inches wide, and 18 inches deep. it came with a glass top with a few narrow opening at one side for ventilation, and a wooden top with light fixtures both for 2 long florescent lights, and 2 small bulbs.
I absolutely love this new setup, and i think Moko will love it too. the only problem I'm having with it is figuring out what kind of bulb to use for heating. the uva bulb is fairly straight forward, just replace on of the two long ones with a equal sized 10.0 uva bulb, but the heating bulb is a bit tricky. first off i don't know what wattage i should use with this new tank. I've been using 150W for my 55 Gallon she's in right now, and someone said i should use the same wattage for this tank since the depth is similar. the guy i got it from suggested as small as a 20W max a 40W, so i have conflicting opinions on this, added to this the two small sockets pictured on the right side of the wooden top, don't allow except for a very small bulb, so the fat bulbs i have been using in the lighting dome in her old setup just wont fit. i have the option of two small bulbs but so far the max wattage i have found has been 20, so if she needs more heat than that i really don't know what to do.
i suppose if i have to i can have a screen made for it, and just out her old domes ontop, but i really like the look of the wooden top, and want to keep it unless i cant find any other options.
does someone have any advice??
