Lighting: are there limitations?

Draggy's enclosure is about 95" long and 36" high. I have a MegaRay 100wt, 48" ReptiSun 10 tube, 48" Phillips Daylight 5000 lumens tube, 45wt flood, and 2 energy saving floods that are mostly for extra light. The fluorescent tubes are on a hanging double ballast fixture. Even though it looks well lit, I'm thinking of adding a second double ballast fixture with yet another 48" ReptiSun 10 & 48" Phillips Daylight. Is it possible to have too much UV and/or visible light?

I don't know what the possible health issues would be with too much uvb. But there has to be some kind of uv overdose. I think the megaray is enough for one enclosure.

As for other lighting, having a bright viv during the day is a good thing. You should only have to worry about the temperatures.

There is such a thing of too much UVB yes and I think at this point if you were to add more you could be doing more harm then good.If you really want to boost lighting without adding heat just get some energy efficien NON UVB spiral flourescents.They give of great light,no heat and low electricity use so its win win

Yeah, I already have 2 spiral fluorescent energy saving floods: I do love the light they give off while not making temps too hot. Maybe I'll just add one or two more of those.
