Light problems need help!

I've had my beardie since Christmas and he's been doing just fine, the only problem is his main basking bulb. I started out with a 100w zoo med basking light, that burnt out one morning after about two months. I took it back to the pet store and they replaced it with a 100w exo terra basking bulb. This morning, that too burnt out. Now I've heard they should last about 6 months... So if anyone has any ideas on how this happened that'd be great! Also, what's the best brand 100w bulb to buy?

From my recent experience, you're better off buying a white household bulb. The Exo Terra bulbs are coated in Neodymium which filters out yellow light and makes everything look blue to your beardie. Plus, white household bulbs are cheaper in the long run. Sticking with the 100W should be fine, though if you buy a flood/spot light, lower wattage on a dimmer is best because they emit more heat than light I've discovered.
