My beardie has been acting strange for a few weeks now. She’s just over 2 years old.She has been staying in the same spot all day and night. She doesn’t sleep during the day, she just lays there and then sleeps at night. She has plenty of hide options available to brumate but she’s favoring a corner near the basking bulb and isn’t napping. She isn’t eating much either, but will eat only favorites like blueberries or crickets. Her BMs have been infrequent as well. Last week she had gone two weeks without one until I bathed her and got a big healthy BM. Solid white urate, normal.
I guess I would understand if this is brumation but it’s been like a month and a half of her just being lazy. She will move from spot to spot sometimes but she isn’t explicitly basking or hiding either. I weighed her and she’s down 4 grams from her last weigh in a month ago. Which can be expected since she’s hardly eating.
Her tank is 36x24x24. Reptisun t5 HO. 8 months old bulb. Basking side is 96 degrees F. Cool side is 78 degrees. Her eyes are bright and normal. Her tail is shedding slightly. No signs of bloated tummy. She’s bathed weekly. Last decal was done a couple months ago. I’d send in a decal butnlately she only goes in the water and that won’t provide a good sample.
So any ideas guys? Do beardies brumate by not sleeping all day and moving arounD?
