Leopard gecko escape

Hokay how a leopard gecko got out of a 10 gal i have no idea. he was maybe only a few months old from petco, great shape for a gecko from them. But he has escaped and has been missing for 48 hours at the max, we didnt know he was gone till last night when i went to say hi to him before we went out to dinner. I then freaked, tore apart his tank gently to see if he'd gotten under his repti-carpet.

There is a possibility that our Argentine b\w chocoan giant tegu ate him, only because she has shown interest in crickets and our roach colony. We have looked everywhere and the only places left are my bfs room (which is a mess) and inside the underside of the couch. Hopefully he'll come out, were tempted to let a few crickets run loose for him. The apartment is around 70-80 in temperature, so hopefully he wont freeze or anything. I'm more concerned on wether he's been eaten or is going to get eaten because the tegu gets out to use the cat box and wander around. But i also dont want him to get dehydrated.

I would supervise your tegu when it is out until you find your leopard gecko.

What I would do is set a basking bulb over a spot on the floor with your gecko's favorite food and a hide. Don't do it where it's out in the open, put it in a corner maybe with a blanket piled up in front of it so he will feel secure over there, but don't completely obscure the view, make sure your gecko can see and smell the stuff and get over there easily. Keep on looking for him. Remember, you may even be looking too hard, so make sure to look in obvious places just as well as the not-so-obvious ones. Good luck!

ok, thanks. thought of that but i'm not so sure since we havent even had him 2 weeks, but i'll give it a shot.

Unfortunately i cant watch the tegu all the time, i dont live with my bf. My parents get mad whenever he goes out of town for work or Larping and i watch everyone. He'd watch her but he went out of town for work this weekend :/ which is ok but with commodore squiggles out and about, i'm a upset that he went anyways. Hopefully he'll stay hidden from her, she goes to bed early every night so thats good. as long as she's fed though i'm hoping she wont eat him if she finds him. thankfully she doesnt go under the couch as much as our savanah monitor (who thankfully cannot get out and about)

we have 2 cats as well, neither will eat him but they may sniff him a bit. so i'm not concerned about them bothering him but if i set up a enclosure type thing for him they may mess it up. Probably just lock them in the bathroom with their necessity's.
