Length or Width?

I have a 6 month old bearded dragon who's 14 inches long. I went online and saw a number of people saying they fed their beardies 3/4 crickets when their beardie reached that age. So I bought some last week. She's eating them fine, no sign of impaction. She's pooping regularly, no sign of impaction at all. But it just got me wondering if it's the size of the crickets are measured by width or length. I know it's a rule of thumb to measure the space in between her eyes and from there get the right size, but I'm not too sure if I got the right size or not. She's eating them fine, it's just been worrying me for a few if I'm feeding her the right size or not.

My understanding is that the length of the cricket needs to fit between the width of the beardies eyes.

That's my understanding as well. I measure mine across the beardie's nose based on the cricket's nose to rear end, not from side to side. I'm not sure how others on here do it.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
