hello i have had my bearded dragon for about 2 months now and he has been starting to walk on the back of his hands weird. I Have read that it could be MBD but he has been eating plenty of collard greens, and plenty of roaches dusted with calcium. My light is the 18inch T8 bulb and is only 6-8 inches away from his basking area.

He seems to drag them when he walks and sometimes he walks perfectly fine.

Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks

It's good that he doesn't always walk like that. He may just have very flexible wrists. My dragon lays down and will often fold his hands back like that. How old is your UVB light? They need to be swapped out every 6 months or so to maintain optimal output. 6-8'' above the basking area for a T8 is the correct distance though. If he is getting dusted bugs and collards then he should be getting plenty of calcium too.

It's a bit of gray area. I think of it this way. D3 supplement is needed when you have lower output UVB lights like the T8 or a coil/compact. If you have a high powered UVB like a T5 or good mercury vapor bulb it should allow them to synthesize their own D3 so I use plain calcium with those lights. You could find a happy medium and use an all in one with low D3 amounts in either situation. The Repashy Calcium Plus is a nice all in one option. I dust bugs with supplements whenever they are offered.

That's a long T8. Optimal range is about 6-8'' and it's considered lower output. I would use the all-in-one or calcium w/d3.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
