so weve had our baby for about 5 months and is somewhere around the age of 7 and a half months old and recently her back legs seem to have been twitching? it only happens for a minute and maybe once a day but we have been really worried about it. does anybody know what it could be? i looked through the forums a bit and read some that said it could be MBD and thats really worrying.

Do they twitch like a muscle spasm or is she moving them like a scratching motion? If you can grab a video it may be helpful. You can upload videos to a hosting site like vimeo or youtube and add a link here.

What are you using for a UVB light? Are you adding calcium supplement to her bugs? If the lighting and supplementation is correct then it's not likely to be MBD.

we dust her food with calcium before giving it to her, and we use a reptisun 10.0 T8 bulb. i will try to get a video next time i see her doing it. its closer to a muscle spasm then a scratching motion. Thank you for your help :)

Ok good. How far is the T8 from her basking area? Is there any clear plastic covering on the fixture that is between her and the bulb? A T8 has an optimal range between 6-8''.

well we originally had her uvb on the cool side of her tank, but we recently moved it next to her heat lamp so that it was over her basking area when we noticed her legs twitching. we realized that she didnt go over to the cool side often and she might not be getting enough uvb. there is no plastic covering the fixture, but the netting lid for her cage is in between. i think it is about 11 inches from her preferred basking area. maybe we can try raising her basking area

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
