LED additional lightning??

Hello,

Has anyone done any testing on the new LED bulbs out there. I was looking to replace some of my house bulbs with a bulb that produces less heat, gives off more light, and is more efficient...but I am not sure how it will affect my dragon. I have megarays in the tank and do not need any additional heat that regular house bulbs are giving me so an LED will be the perfect solution if it is safe.

Are you putting them in the tank to brighten it up? As long as they don't output any harmful rays, I don't see why they couldn't be used as additional lighting. Beardies do live in the desert so they should be fine in a bright area. I would just watch the first week or so to see if anything changes and go from there.

yeah they love being in bright areas, i just figured i could kill two birds with one stone by using an LED, i just wasnt sure if they have been tested because they are relatively new...don't want their eyes to be bugging out or harm them in any way. Any heat i can get rid of will be good which is why the LED would work in theory.
