So im going to my parents house for like 2 weeks and im not sure what to do with my feeders. Right now I have a colony of dubias and superworm beetles going. Id really like to avoid taking them to their house at all cost haha, but I cant really figure out how else to take care of them if there not with me. I dont have anyone that would take care of them while im gone either. Does anyone have any idea of something I can do to make sure there fine on there own for an extended period of time or is my only real option taking them to my parents house? I know theyll freak out if I show up with 5 reptiles, a few hundred roaches, 50 beetles, and 1000 worms lol.

what you may be able too do is for the dubias make sure there alot of their dry food in a bowl and just alot of water crystals... may work may not... good luck :D

Yep, leave the dubia a large bowel of dry food and a huge bowl of water crystals. Try to fill the water crystal bowl up with water after you added the crystals as well, that should last a week or so. Make certain they are on the cool side of the tank. If you have a heat source for the colony, consider shutting it off for the two weeks (assuming it doesn't get below 60 in your house). That will slow their metabolism down as well. Also, get some of the largest carrots you can find and place a few big chunks in there. Carrots won't mold and if the pieces are large enough, they will last about a week or so. You can use the carrots for moisture with the supers as well. You may have some cannabalism, but that might be better than freaking out your parents. ;)

I'd assume the Dubias could be fine. I've heard of people trying to KILL off colonies by starving them but only find out months later they are still alive.. :x

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
