Leaving beardies at home

Hello, i have 4 bearded dragons (2 adults and 2 juveniles) and while my mum is on holiday i will be staying at my sisters for a week. The plan was to visit my house for 2 hours every 2 days to check on them, feed them give them heat as the light wont be on while im gone. i was wondering if this is okay becuase im not too sure?

That will not work. If anything you are better off leaving the lights on the whole time as opposed to turning them on for a few hours every 2 days.

If you would leave the lights on and then come feed them every two days, that would work, but not be ideal; especially for your juvies who likely are still wanting live feeders twice a day.

Yes it would.

Them having 4 hours of heat per week will do more damage than that though.

You could also just buy a timer and connect the lights to that.

You can get a timed powerbar/surge protector for pretty cheap at walmart; I have a 13$ one that has 8 outlets, 4 of which are timer controlled and 4 that always receive power. It works well for what I need it to do. You can get fancy herp specific ones that have timed daytime and nightime outlets as well as outlets that always receive power and also fade lights on and off to simulate sunrise/sunset but they're pretty extravagant.

This is a very basic one that I use for my beardies vivs. The left side has the timer, the right side is live all the time. They do make other variants so check Amazon out then see if your local hardware shops will have something like this (if you need these quickly). I got mine at Lowes.
