laying eggs

I just found out our beardie Izzy is a girl!!! After all this time we thought she was a boy! In the past she has done a lot of scratching and digging... do females still lay eggs even though they aren't fertilized? If so, what do I need to do so she can comfortably lay her eggs??? Also, what other behavior issues come with laying eggs... anything hormonal I need to be aware of?? :|

yea a lot of lizards can lay unfertile eggs...I dont know how common it is b/c I have never had an adult female w/o breeding her.
I would make her a lay box out of sand that is about 12-18 inches deep so that she can dig a burrow to lay her eggs in and then cover them up. also I would be feeding her extra and offering more water than usual while she is producing and laying eggs... and definitely increase the amount of calcium supplement b/c she is using a lot to produce the eggs.

Angie has laid 2 clutches already and she's just under a year old. I use the Coco Fiber (looks like a brick, add a gallon of warm water and POOF, it turns into dirt). Put that in an 18gal bin, cut a hole out so she can get into it and I have that in her viv. Granted she makes a HUGE mess digging the dirt out (that's what vaccum cleaners are for :lol. When she's done packing it down and making sure it looks all covered up, I take the bin out, sift thru and take out the eggs and flush them!

When she's going thru these times, I make sure she soaks in the tub more often.

I got my first several bricks from Petsmart, but you pay royally for them from there. I ordered quite a few 3 packs from Petmountain.com to have/keep on hand for a lot less than what I was paying at Petsmart!
