I've been building an enclosure for my upcoming beardie. However, I cannot find an answer to some simple questions.

Do I use an adhesive to lay the tiles in place or grout the floor, lay the tiles, and grout/seal?
If I use an adhesive, what should I use?

There isn't much for hardware stores where I live, just Canadian Tire, Rona, and Home Hardware :banghead:
I have little to none experience building/handymaning; Computers are more my expertise =\

Hi this may not answer your question but i have just laid my tiles in without sealing them (as i am not good with DIY either). Laying them in means they can be taken out and cleaned thoroughly and replaced easier if needed

hi Ezzor ive just not long finished building Rex's new viv i had the same problem, didnt know whether to stick them in and grout them or just lay them in. in the end i decided to use aquarium sealant a blob on each of the four corners of the tiles is enough to hold them in place and then just sealed all around the edges with the same sealant once dried it is non toxic and there are no fumes. i hope this helps. :D

You can seal them If you want. But I find it far easier just to cut them to fit and then lay them in. So much easier to be able to take a tile out and wash it off

Had both ways, but personally I prefer them not sealed. I find it so much easier just taking them out to clean and cleaning under them.

My problem is that my beardie poops and dance on the poop!!! So there is poop all over the tiles and when the tiles are not sealed the poop gets under them and is a pain in the butt to take all out every time she poops because I have to clean all the tiles and the tank floor and because of the size of my tank they are alot of tiles. I haven't sealed mine but I see it as an option because that way I can wipe off the top of the tiles and don't worry about underneath them.

yeah same here sammyjackson i totally agree rex poops all over  i find it alot more hygenic and easier that the tiles are sealed so when he does poop  we just get fragrance free baby wipes no hasssle no trouble, just wipe them over and job done.

I have found that instead of using a sealer, try rubber matting liner for cupboard draws. Worked great for me, tiles won't slide around and it's super cheap. 1 roll lasts quite a while depending on how big ur Viv is. Hope this helps!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
