Lay Box

About two days ago I put some sand in a small tupperware in the corner of Crupi's viv. After a day or two I found her in there digging. Its only got about 2 inches worth of sand in the container, and its a small container 9x5 or so. What should I use for a lay box that I can keep in the viv? That way she can go in and out as she wants. I've got a 4x2x2 viv. What size should the box be? open or covered? What do I use in the lay box? I just need some general direction about how to build a lay box and what to use inside. Thanks!

Just use a storage bin big enough to fit a 50lb bag of play sand. I like sand because it's clean and bacteria free. Wet it enough to make it damp and hold it's shape when she digs. You can even make a mound and start a hole, like a little cave, she may dig where you started. If she doesn't want to lay, she'll jump out. Sometimes it takes a couple days for them to actually lay, especially if its her first time. She will not eat for 3 or 4 days prior to laying and will become extremely restless and be unusually bright in color, at least thats how all mine are.
