larger crickets

OK so our cricket shipment was mostly dead and while we wait for more crickets to arrive I have had to get the smallest possible crickets from the petstore. They are a little larger than I would like ( just barely the space between his eyes) There isn't much I can do about it either he doesn't eat or he has to be fed the larger crickets. I know it's running the risk of an impaction but what could I do to prevent that from happening. Would giving him more bath help keep things moving? oh and ummm how many times a day should he poop? I'm used to ball pythons and those go once a month if your lucky LOL.

If there are no smaller options, just make sure your temperatures (particularly the basking temperature) are up to par. Warm baths will encourage bowel movements, and are just in general good ways to keep your bearded dragon hydrated.

As for the defecating, it depends on the specific bearded dragon; what age the bearded dragon is; and what, how much, and how often he or she has been eating. For a young bearded dragon, you can expect one or two times a day. For an adult, it varies, but you usually will get slightly less (maybe every other day or couple of days). Again, it varies, but it's typically not very long (shouldn't be weeks or months). If you want a personal example, my bearded dragon would go one or two times a day when he was younger. Now that he's an adult, he goes once a day, occasionally skipping a day here and there.
