Large enough hides for adults

Recently I've started looking for a large hide for Kazoozles. At 19.5 inches and 480 grams, with a width of 3" and a standing height, if he squirms low, of about 2" it's been hard. I'm not using any wood or similar materials, so that knocks those out. I need something opaque. That knocks out a lot of the guinea pig plastic houses I was looking at. Now I'm left with.... Nothing. Literally.

I need something solid that won't break down because I do a deep viv clean monthly, that includes disinfecting EVERYTHING in their tanks that isn't disposable. I soak cage furniture in a bleach water solution then spray down with veterinary disinfectant, rinse and let dry. Everybody had coccidia at one point, and there's a reason they haven't been reinfected.

I've researched and found lots of size appropriate items. They all have openings MUCH too small! I've looked into Exo Terra's caves and Zilla's rock dens. I've reached out to Big Apple Herp, LLLReptile and Reptile Direct. I've combed Amazon. I've looked at PetCo and PetSmart, online and in person.

What happened? I have two dragons who need larger hides, and they simply don't exist. Right now, Isadora is crammed into a rock cave, barely. She'll be a year at the beginning of 2016, so she has a lot to grow still. That cave won't work for too much longer. Poor Kaz hasn't anything to hide in. It's really sad, actually, because I can tell he wants to brumate.

Of course, this isn't the end of the world. Sure, I could put in a cardboard box. That would work. I just find it surprising that there simply doesn't seem to be anything actually being made for this size of lizard anymore.

I've considered other options, like the box. I could make my own out of foam and grout, but it wouldn't be able to be disinfected. LLL Reptile did point me at a tortoise cave that would work, but it's huge and has an extremely large opening. Not ideal for a lizard who wants to feel secure. A few people, LLL included, pointed me at these plain, black boxes. They're designed for snakes and have mostly small openings. I know this because I ordered the large, and its opening was 2.5" across, and Kaz couldn't fit. This box was gigantic (13.25" L x 9" W x 3.25" H). The next size up, Extra Large, has a big enough opening, but it's a whopping 16.25" L x 11" W x 4.5" H. That's WAY too large.

So... What's a beardie parent to do? Where have you been getting your hides? Have you had difficulty with finding a hide right in both size and opening for your beardy babies? NOTE: I'm in the US and have not researched internationally.

I found a National Geographic Rainforest Log cave for my nieces dragon, Mystic. He seems to like it a lot, the first night I put it in, he crawled into the hole on the side and loved it. He feels very secure in there. Both ends are open, and sometimes I cover up the log with a small blanket. Google it, its made to be washed and the large is perfect for an adult dragon.

Check out Petsmart online, national geographic has made a lot of reptile accessories just for Petsmart.

I looked at the NeoGeo stuff. Most of it is too small or has an opening that is far too little. I may try that log a couple posts ago, but it really isn't exactly right. Kaz likes to curl up.

I've seen this in person and it's pretty large:

If you read the reviews a couple people mention it working out for their Bearded Dragons.

I have that one. The top of the opening is too low for Kaz to want to go in. He just ignored it.

You could try cutting the opening a little larger,or propping the edges and back up on some flat rocks.

It's pretty hard. Not quite concrete hard, but I'm not sure I have the tools for cutting a larger opening. I'd need a vise and some sort of powered saw. The propping thing is a good thought.

I'm not sure of the exact resin composition, but I've used a small air powered reciprocating saw and a die grinder with a 3 inch phenolic cutoff wheel on other pieces.

I acknowledge that those are all words you just used but I am not sure what some of them mean... I think I might have a jigsaw someplace. Maybe?

I can't tell from the angle how large the entryway is? I don't have anything like this at my PetCo or PetSmart! I feel like I'm being shorted cool herp stuff!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
