That's great to hear he's doing better, I know it makes you feel a lot better too. It won't hurt him to have a lighter meal this afternoon, or you could check for fresh shed mealworms or cut 1-2 in half. But it won't be so bad if he doesn't get a big meal. You can even offer some approved greens like turnip, mustard, collard arugula, endive and veggies like shredded squash or green beans as well.
