Kookie's Weird Skin

Kookie's hind legs, tail, and maybe head have looked strange for well over a week now. They look like they're going to shed but nothing is happening. He gets a bath every day and brushed with his toothbrush. Does it look like he's supposed to shed? I don't know what else to do.

What do u mean when u say his skin looks weird? Sry but I can't tell from the pic. lol! If u mean that he looks duller in color/more greyish then usual, then yes, he/she is probably about to shed

Yes, that's what I mean. Usually when he sheds, he'll be dull looking for a day or two and then he'll shed. He's been like this for a good 10 days now and shows no sign of starting to shed.

It definitely looks like shed to me. Sometimes they will be dull for a long time before shedding.

Yeha my dragon's been in various stages of shedding for 3 weeks. Still still has a leg and arm and the top of his head. Nothing to worry about i don't think.

mine is looking like that as well. i have had him for a month and no REAL shed. Now that i got a mega ray im hoping i get one soo cause he is only 7 inches.

Hi, Kyle! Yeah, he loves his new viv, and also, I got a Megaray to go in the new fixture. It's all working out great.

Hi Nancy, I just wanted to mention that as they get older, it takes them longer to shed. I've noticed that during the heating season, it takes them longer. As adults, some areas take almost a month to shed. Frequent baths as you're doing is a good idea, you could also use 100% Aloe Vera gel and apply to those areas if you want, just make sure you don't put him under his basking lights after just applying the gel as it could cause burns. You might want to apply it before bed instead so it can penetrate all night.

Kookie looks great, can't believe he's gotten that big already. He looks nice & healthy. 8)

Hi Diane. Yes, he's grown tremendously hasn't he. I think I will try the aloe vera gel.

That's great Nancy that his tail is starting to shed. By looking at his back legs, they will be following along very soon too. Does he seem uncomfortable at all from the shed? What does he weigh and how long is he? What happened to your little guy?

I don't know what happened!! No more baby!! He now weighs 255 grams and is 15 inches long. Can you imagine? The shed doesn't seem to bother him. I think he's too feisty.
