I am just wondering if a Cat and a Beardie could ever get along. I just got a kitten. She is almost 2 months old, so she is still very small. I have my bearded dragon (Harley) in a different room, and the kitten is not allowed in there at all. That is not the problem the problem is that Harley loves to run around the house, but I am worried about him being around the kitten. I have tried to lock the kitten in the bathroom while he is out, but the kitten cries the whole time which make Harley freak out and hide. Can Harley and the kitten (Peaches) run around the house together?

Thanks,
Angie

I wouldn't let your cat near him. You don't know what could happen. I would say if you ever do, wait for your cat to get used to Harley before you put them together.

Well, my roommate's cat, who is almost a year old, is very interested in my beardie. Actually, his enclosure. Her cat doesn't care if he is actually in it or not, she just likes to watch it.
My cat doesn't care at all. He is a pretty chill guy, and four years old, and he just lays there and ignores my beardie. So I guess it really depends on the cat. I keep my beardie in my room with me, and my cat is in here most of the time. I let my beardie hang out on my bed with me alot and roam around, and my cat is usually in here then too. He literally ignores him. My roommate's cat however doesn't seem to notice him, she just wants to sit in front of his enclosure thing and look in. She's also a not so bright cat.
I would just feel the cat out around the enclosure, and if they seem overly interested to take caution.

I have a 16 year old cat and she has be introduced to my BD.
At the size Lil is at I wouldn't leave them alone. Lil ran right up to my cat nose to nose first meeting just checking each other out. Of course I was right there.

I'd say that this is the time to socialise them, just be careful so the beardie dont try to eat the cat. My beardie and my dog works great together, Gizmo the cat don't bother the two other cats we have here however I would NOT trust. They have high preydrive. Have the kitten in your lap and let it watch the running around beardie, this so they can get used to one another slowly. Just take it very careful so they dont decide to do dinner of one another. But I do think you can make it work, my cats and rats used to hang out together and they are natural enemies.

Well...I don't trust two of my cats with Cinder...one of them being an bouncing, rambunctious kitten and the other very nosy and likes to hunt. I would only trust Smokey with Cinder. Cinder has seen the cats, and they stress him out quite a bit. I won't let the kitties even sniff him before he grows to at least ten inches. He's still at six.
I guess it all depends on how your dragon is/or how it might react to a cat, and the cats personality. If you have 100% trust in your cat, then I would first let the cat sniff the dragon while you hold it. My cat Smokey is very timid and the only thing she has ever tried to kill were moths and flies. I had a rat named Basil who bullied her, chasing her around my room in a playful way. Shes such a pushover.

Thanks for the advise everyone!!! Harley (beardie) is almost 3 years old, but Peaches (Kitten) is only 2 months old. She is very active and Harley is very relaxed. From the advise that I have gotten it sounds like I should just keep them apart for the time being. At least until the kitten gets a little older. Harley has seen a cat before when he lived with me at my parents house, so cats are not new to him. Harley was in his tank when he saw the cat. I just think that peaches is way to active for Harley to be around for right now. We will see how it goes when the kitten is older. Thanks again everyone.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
