kids playground sand

im wondering if i can used kids playground sand for my beardie without any problems. right now i have him on exo terra sand which is really fine but is also very expensive compared to $4 for a 30 lb bag of kids sand to $25 for 10 lbs of the exo terra. the small rocks that are in the sand are waht concern me cause i dont want him picking up any if he decides to lick the sand

im currenty building a 44" X 2 X 2 viv for my beardie as he is well over due for a new home and the substrate is one of the last things on my list

Some people will say "no" just because it is sand, but I think it is the best option if you're going to use sand at all. When I sell a dragon, I required a review of the setup in order to get a health guarantee, and don't mind when they use play sand. What I do ask is that people get a couple of slate tiles to sit on the sand in the basking area and where the food dish is located. This makes it easy to clean up poos without getting too much of it in the sand and keeps it out of the food that gets scattered outside the dish. You don't have to use tiles but I thought I would make a suggestion.

I say no to sand. Only because I have first hand experience with it harming my beardie. Vet could feel the sand in her belly, and also got paracites from it. It's just not sanitary. I use outdoor carpet. Cheap, easy to clean, looks nice.

the sand my beardie is on now enjoys so i will just sift out the play sand my beardie is a year old and has been on carpet he whole life except for when i bought him he was on sand he licks at it but doesnt actually make contact and how about cage carpet for around the dish? i do all his feedings outside his cage cause he like to run around and eat them but i leave veggiesv and greens inside and sometimes he gets frantic when im not gome and get it all over the place then eats it later. such a awesome pet
