Keeps one eye closed

Charlie seems to have a preference for keeping his left eye closed. It isn't bulging, or draining. He opens it from time to time and seems to see out of it, but I wonder if there is a reason for this behavior. The eye isn't cloudy, but I do know he had a red heat light for almost 2 years. His previous owner was told he needed that for night. I got rid of it as soon as the mods on here told me it was bad.

Sometimes, what I have heard when they close one eye that can mean that they are annoyed at something.

 He does it at random times in random places. I notice it when I'm handling him, inside the building or when he's on my shoulder, or when we are on a walk outside. Maybe he's just an angsty teenager and thinks his mom is super annoying.

I notice it more when I'm handling him. I wish I could be closer to him during the day, but he is out in the public area of the library and I'm in the offices unless I specifically go out to play with him or introduce him to someone.

It could be for any of the reasons mentioned. If it is irritating him (maybe a stuck pice of shed skin in it for example) then he may keep it closed. When they do that while basking it's usually relaxation. When they do that when being handled or interacted with I usually interpret it as mild annoyance. Not enough to run away or tail whip, just a sigh and eyroll level reaction as you mentioned.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
