keeping odour in check

My dragon is alone most of the day till i get home from work at 3:00p.m. and she has at least one dump that is usually fermenting in her enclosure. Opening the glass door to clean it up usually triggers a gag reflex in me and i'm sure she is trying to contain herself from bursting out laughing at me. Some days are worse than others depending of what she had to eat, and at times the poop fumes could make an onion cry
I did have her to the vet for a check up and she got the thumbs up. So i thought that since BBQ charcoal has the ability to absorb odours without adding any smell itself to the air that i could place a few pieces in the corners of her enclosure to keep the stink in check. I am sure baking soda would also work , i think charcoal pieces would be less messy. Does anyone see a problem with this idea if i keep it away from her?

hmmm the charcol thing sounds like a bad idea too me. Baking soda would be my choice.

I am more concerned with why the poop smells so bad. On the really smelly days, what have you fed your BD? You should keep a journal of what you BD eats and then you can trace down the food that triggers the smelly poop and cut that out of the diet.

Charcoal probably isn't a good idea. Bearded dragons love to lick new things. You could put baking soda in a container with a mesh top. I suppose you could do the same with charcoal. hmmmm... What do you think, GoFast?

I don't know. I do have some baking soda at the top of my screen. I think my concern with the charcol would be what fumes would it put off? i know you can get charcoal without any added burning agents but......

I suppose if you are going to do it, just make sure it is out of reach from the beardie!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
