I just adopted Kaida and her sister a few weeks ago. I recently noticed that she's losing scales on her leg...her sister is too. It's not infected, there's no crust or ooze - just like a person who as impetigo or something. The scales that are there are smooth and soft. I've never seen them shed. I was told they were 6 months, but by their size I've got to think they're older than that. The sisters are 37" and 40", nose to tail.

Here's the thing: They're CRAZY healthy, eat greens, supers, poop all the time, get their baths, and stuff. They bask and have their UVB bulb.

So - any ideas?? Thanky!

See the smooth spot?

Thanks Livey -

The 2nd image is her "good" front leg - it hasn't lost any scales - are you sure this is the start of a shed?

Many thanks

I don't think there is a loss of scales but looks like a shed to me. You can clearly see scales just not colored. :study:

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
