Hi There,
I was just wondering what i can do to help my beardie get better! We have just taken him to the vet the other day and poor guy has worms and tons of worm eggs  We have gotten the suggested Panacur (paste) for him, he is suppopse to be given 0.6mls once a week for 4wks. I was just wondering if there's anything else i can do to help him get feeling better a little quicker for he has been feeling this way since winter  Really appreciate the advise and help!

When my BD was sick I gave him Repti-aid, it helped with dehydration and gives them calories to help him get better. You can get it from Petco or Petsmart. You just mix it up like paste and inject it in to their mouth with a syringe. It seemed to help.

I don't know a lot about parasites but you should make sure you keep his enclosure extra clean and if you are using loose substrate, remove it and use something like paper towels, shelf liner or tiles.

worms, worm eggs, parasites, ive had to deal with it all. lol
the panacur should clear that right up
the above poster is correct in removing any loose substrate as this harbers an awful lot of bacetria even though the poop would be cleaned out its still a breeding ground for it. paper towels or a fave here is textured ceramic tile, absolute no risk of impaction and super easy to clean and it naturally files their talons down.
hygiene is important always and even more so in this situation. keep him hydrated by giving extra baths for him, (if you dont already bath him then i suggest you start now) warm (not hot) water just above his elbows and never leave unsupervised! as long as his vent (where he poops) is underwater he will take water in.

the 2nd post down in this topic suggested injecting fluids into his mouth! warning...that is not an actual injection straight into his mouth, lol, is you have a plastic dropper or needleless syringe then drop some water onto his nose with it and he should lick it off.
also you may want to start giving a probiotic as meds can really knock their systems down as sometimes it kills the good bacteria as well as the bad so a probiotic is a must, you can just sprinkle it onto his greens or livefood if you like. some great probiotics are benebac, Acidophliz, reptiboost and you could even give him soy yoghurt (absolutely plin and soy as their lactose intolerant i believe).

obviously the essentials to keep him healthy, calcium and multi vit supplements, correct UVB lighting and temperatures also will do him good and keep him healthy.

good luck

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
