He weighs about 330g, and is just over 17 inches long.

I had him down as about 7 months old, but I'm quickly rethinking this. He was dinky when we got him at the beginning of December (3mo ago), only about 11inches and light as a feather, with pretty much no fat reserves at all. The pet shop was a bit questionable and had no idea of sex or age. We still have no idea really, I'm calling him he, but who knows?

He shot up about 3 inches within a few weeks (I'm assuming from being fed properly and some decent lights and heat!) and I'd never weighed him before this evening. But I was trimming his claws as I'm beginning to scar from his cuddles (!) and I thought, he's chilled, why the heck not? He's not chilled anymore, but nevermind. :D I measured him at the same time.

Is this kind of growth normal? Am I feeding him too much? Or should I be proud of his manly growth?

A quick photo for further reference, although it's a terrible angle and you can't see much except the frown. Excuse his grumpy face and darkish marks, he wasn't a fan of the nail trim! He's normally a bit paler with a yellow tint. He's really not talking to me right now, can you sense the cold shoulder?

He looks like a healthy weight to me. It also looks like he's got a shed coming on so he's still growing quickly. Keep up with the food to help support that =). I've found it's sometimes easier to take your time and work on one hand at a time when nail trimming as they tend to get a bit squirmy after a little bit.

Keep recording his weight so you can monitor how it's trending. I'd imagine he will fill in and put on another couple of hundred grams over the next year or so.

Thank you. Yes, he is starting a shed on his right half and around his mouth. And cheers for the trimming tips - I'll try that next time and maybe he won't be so cross with me for bothering him.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
