Just started with Hornworms, Think I found my new Staple

Hey all,
When i first got Jerome as a baby he would always run around to chase the crickets excited for them! I switched him to Phoenix worms for a good while because I hated the crickets, and because of that he lost his will/skill to hunt for the longest time ):

But today, I got Hornworms in the mail. Took him 10 minutes to try the first one, after he ate it, he was going crazy. Glass surfing towards the tub of them, wanting more. So I put on on the highest point of the branch on the opposite side of the tank and he ran full speed even before I placed it down.

My question is do I need to dust the Horn Worms?

If it is the only feeder you are using, then yes I would dust them. They are a great staple, but can get expensive. Have you ever tried dubia roaches? Most dragons love them. I feed Superworms, dubia, hornworms occasionally (I have 11 dragons so I could never afford just hornworms)

If they are nutritious and he likes them, I'm fine with with price. Maybe I'll establish a colony. So same as I dust crickets or worms? Calcium 5 a week multivitamin 2 a week?

How old is your dragon. If it is a baby - Juvi, yes 5x a week calcium, and 2x multivitamin. If an adult 1 year and over, 3x a week for calcium.

When I first saw a video or hornworms they looked ginormous! Daenerys is 11 inches long, is she big enough?

They are soft bodied so she should be fine. Also they are a great way to hydrate your beardie. I would just watch feeding just them.. They can cause loose stools. Variety is always the best.

thanks I noticed most sites don't sell large quantities probably for that reason. I made the mistake of giving Daenerys waxworms as a treat and now she turns her nose up to her reptiworms Still eats her crickets though. However she will go nuts over the waxworms.
