Today I went to the pet store to pick up my special order of dubia roaches .I ordered 12 roaches each seem to be nymphs.I currently house them in a 10 gallon with some egg crate which I need more of.Im planning to breed them .I have a Heat mat ,I feed Flukers Cricket high calcium food as a staple and Cricket Quencher as a water source .I will throw in some veggies here and there like collar greens .But one question I have in mind is do dubias require high humidity to breed? If so ig I'll have to make a trip to the petstore to get a hydrometer

Only 12 nymphs may take a while to grow up and establish a colony. It may be several months before they start breeding (but once they do they'll produce a LOT of little bugs). They prefer humidity and warm temps (80s, 90s) so if you have a ceramic heat emitter for them it should help. I've found that veges work really well for food so I'd use that instead of flukers (it's cheaper too). They LOVE squash and oranges but will take out all sorts of vegetable scraps for you. Fresh veges will keep them hydrated too. If you need more cardboard you can use paper towel and toilet paper rolls for their housing too. You could try misting them for humidity but I haven't found it necessary and you'll want to be careful about mold. There is a good writeup about general care for them here https://www.southtexasdragons.com/dubia-roaches.html

Okay thanks ,I do have a Ceramic Heater on my beardies tanks but I think I'll try out the heat mat and see how it goes then I'll add a next heat source if no improvement .I'll also go get a hydrometer for them.Ask for the feeding I'll be feeding them kale, frute, squash ,orange,Collared greens ,carrots and other veggies with addition to the Flukers sincei don't mine the extra cost .

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
