just got done with hibernation and hasnt eatten for a week n

my lizard is a couple years old..hes hibernated b4 but usually after he will eat..
for some reason he doesnt want to get anything we give him
he would rather be outside the cage than be in it
i dont know what to do
any advise?

I wish I had advice, but just want to let you know my girl is doing the same thing. Took her to the vet today and waiting on blood test results. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

My Son's Beardie did much the same thing, and we found that it was simply a matter of kick starting his feeding response again with a bit of force feeding blended food. We took carrots as a base, added some celery and freeze dried meal worms put it all in a blender with some warm water and blended until it was kind of a soupy mixture. We then filled up one of those syringes that they use for giving liquid meds to cats & dogs with the soup. If they won't open their mouth to take it, simply pinch the skin of their dewlap and pull down gently and they will open their mouth, begrudgingly, but it does not hurt them. Then simply squirt the mixture slowly into their mouth. After 5 or 6 feedings this way, they should start going after the food on their own.

Did the vet offer any explanation??? My big boy isn't eating much right now, either...
