Was wondering if I should mist him or take him a bath so he could get hydrated? he exactly 2 weeks old (12/10) about 5 to 6 inc long.
my setup is a typical xfire 4x2x2 got a power glo fluro just for the brightness is about 180K kelvin and I got a MVB from reptile UV. the basking area gets around 110F cool side around 80-85F. I try putting some greens with water in it but he won't touch it. I feed him today 3 dubia nymph, 6 crix,(dusted with rep call with d3) and 4 phoenix worms and took all off it with such fierce which a good sign... I'm just wondering about watering don't want to stress him out more then he already is. What will be the best way to hydrate him? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

hi :D . not all dragons like being misted. you can try but if they seem like they dont enjoy it you might try a lukewarm bath. place them in something large enough so they can swim around in and fill it up with slightly warm water up to their armpits. i usually give my guys something like a wadded up wash rag to climb on to, just for security.

make sure you dont use soap or have them in a container with chemical residue.

also, the weather has been getting cold and humid. make sure you dont let them get a chill while misting or bathing them. if the water they're in starts to get cold(and it will), you can carefully add alittle warm water at the opposite end as the to warm up the bath; just be sure to scoop some out to compensate for the higher water level.

one last thing. your better off not keeping a water bowl in your guys tank. it creates unnecessary humidity and very few dragons drink standing water. remove the water dish to free up extra space in your viv, give him water from a dropper instead.

hope that helped alittle, merry christmas  .

yea it did help for sure... how long do you let them swim for? I'm using a small tubberware container for a few mins then i take the bowl out...also i got one more question how many times do they poop i haven't seen any yet he only eat a few stuff yest and a couple today, i guess he stress from the shipment!

i wouldnt soak them for any longer than a half hour.

as far as pooping goes, i havent really had my dragons long enough to fully understand their seasonal cycles. LG poops every few days, always has. Mayze has been in brumation for about a month and i havent gotte a poop out of her in almost as long. Trouble is pooping about once a week but im treating him for a RI right now...

i guess what im trying to say is, it depends on alot of factors; age, temperatures, lighting, diet, time of year... if you suspect something is off dont hesitate to ask us  .

Another great way to keep babies hydrated is to give them water with an eye dropper. Whenever i have babies I start them out with this method and now I have 2 year olds that come running when they see the eyedropper with water... also a good thing to get them used to if meds are ever needed.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
