As I've said a few times (lots lol), I'll be breeding my beardies as soon as Sinatra is up to the task (very soon I hope). I saw in another post that someone said that their beardies (they were beardie setting) produced eggs at FIFTEEN years old. That got me to reconsidering what I thought I knew about age and breeding.
So my question is, at what age should we stop letting our beardies breed? I thought 7 to 8 was the top end, now I wondering if they can/should reproduce older than that.

If they are in good condition they still might be fine to breed after 5-6 years old [ not much older than that IMO ] but keep in mind that it takes a lots of calcium to build those clutches while still providing enough for the female .

Ok, so I was a little on the high side to. Calcium was my concern in older females. Thank you for the info 🙂

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
