Planning on getting my first bearded dragon delivered Tuesday, a 6 month old 17" boy. Here is my first setup, a 75 gallon tank. I've got a lamp stand with a 120 watt dimmable halogen flood light, keeping the mopani wood basking platform around 100-105. A 36" Reptisun 10.0 UVB bulb mounted inside the tank about 10" away from the basking site. Two large wood pieces for climbing, slate ceramic tile for substrate with repti-carpet underneath, some paver stones helping to support a magnetic rock ledge on the cool side, which stays around 75-80. The wood pieces and paver stones were all baked at 300*F for 15 minutes for sterilization. Planning on feeding superworms and a variety of greens. Eventually raising dubias probably.
The only thing missing is a desert backdrop I got for the entire back wall plus one side, from petbackdrops.com - should get here Tuesday.
What do you think - am I ready?! This forum has been immensely helpful with all my research over this past month, thank you all.
