I just bought my first order of worms from http://www.phoenixworm.com and i got the 400+ large for 30.90 tax included. is this a good price and a reliable place to order? i also found info there, not to refidgerate, and that i just leave them in their container and sometimes put drops of water on them if their too dry. is there ne thing eles that i may need to know about them? someone please help?
thanks in advance. :blob5:

I've never ordered through them before, but I just compared pricing with Ghann's (where I buy them from) and it came out to about the same with NDA shipping. I don't refrigerate mine. I actually keep mine in the coldest part of our basement. It's between 55-60° in that area. I was thinking about what I'm going to do in the summer because it'll be significantly warmer then. I wonder if keeping them in a cooler with a cooling pack would be good. I'll be doing some research on that one. As for watering them, I usually just put a few drops in when the bedding material gets to dry. Honestly though, here they don't really last long enough to really worry about that! Good luck, I'm sure your beardie(s) will love them!

Forgot to add that because they're so rich in calcium, you don't have to dust them like you would with other feeders. You don't have to feed them either. They basically just sit in the cup until their time comes. ;)

How old is your beardie? Dewey is about 3-4 months old and he gets 1 Phoenix Worm feeding a day (his favorite feeding of the day!). He eats anywhere from 30-40 medium worms at a time. So I normally get 3-4 feedings per tub of 100. The tubs are normally overcounted too which is nice.

he'll be a year in about 4 months i think, i cant exactly remember when i got him, i do know that it was last summer though. im tryin to give him a lot more feeders than i have been, hes been eatn mostly veggies due to location, and money... but i have noticed that he is small for his age and i want the best for him, so i want to fatten him up a bit! so ill be feeding him lots of worms. hopefully he can eat 400 before they morph or wat ever they do... which.... how long do they take to morph... lol? if thats wat they do,. as u can prolly tell bugs arnt my thing.... so ima be kinda new to the bug thing.

I'm not completely sure on the life cycle, but I do know that the darker ones (by darker I mean like a dark brown/black color) are the older ones. If you have any darker ones, which you probably will, try feeding those first as they'll be the older ones. I haven't had any issues yet so I doubt you will.

When I feed mine, I like to dip them in a bowl of luke warm water to rinse off the packing material. You don't have to do this, because the material should fall off o the dry worms. I choose to rinse them because I didn't want Dewey to eat the bedding material.

I love to order from them! They have wonderful customer service and always got the worms to me when i ordered them... i usually order 1200 or so and they last me about a month... *yea my baby is a chuncky one, lol* and pretty much all of them last throughout the entire month... yeah you always have one or two that become icky before you feed them but that one or two every like 4 or 5 cups lol i hope you enjoy them as much as we did... they also made my baby's colors pop to amazing colors... the only thing i dont like (this is more for my baby) they helped him grow lots, so that meant more sheds... :( i hate when he sheds... hes miserable, i'm miserable because hes miserable....its a vicious cycle, lol, but I LOVE THEM

The turn into soldier flys if you leave them too long. My beardie went on a hunger strike a while back and stopped eating and one day I opened the contiainer and there were two flys who flew out when I opened the container. Scared me to death.

Try to feed the darker ones first and if they start to get really black and hard throw them out. But beardies love them so much they are usually all eaten long before this is ever a problem.

About 1/4" but unless you leave them sitting around for many weeks like me you will never see them. Had to laugh at myself afterwards.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
