Just Bought my First Beardie!

After wanting a bearded dragon for over a year and hanging around this forum, I just bought my first beardie! I'm both nervous and excited. They'll hold him until next week for me so I can get a timer and the temps right on his new home. I saw his picture and he just seemed to jump out at me and say "Here I am!" I love those nice pastel colors.

I have to leave for work in a little bit, but couldn't wait to post this. He's from Bloodbank Dragons, and is #59 in this ad:

Thanks, Dawn! This is so exciting. I looked through lots of bearded dragons that are for sale before seeing him. Now he'll need a name, maybe something medieval. And I'll need a new forum name, too. You will get to see pictures when he gets here next week.

Thanks. I can't wait to snuggle that beardie and hope I do everything right. He's coming from a place with lots of dragons, so I don't know how much time they had to hold him. He might take a little time before he's ready for that. He'll be here on Wednesday.

Next Wednesday? Awesome! May I suggest you read PeeWee's big adventure in photoexpressions I believe. Pee Wee came to live with Kaleen who is fabulous, and everyone on here was tracking Pee Wee's travel right down to the second he arrived. I loved it! I have read others who have got their dragons from Bloodbank, they have some impressive babies. I am sure your dragon will instantly love all the attention. My Hemi came from PetSmart, they said he had been there for a couple of months, which was a tiny tank, and he wasn't handled much either. But he settled in fast and he is such a snuggler, and I am sure your baby will be too very soon. I am glad you joined this site, you will learn so much as I do everyday.

Have you thought of a name for your boy yet? I hope the week passes by fast for you! Keep us posted. You should go ahead and set up a photobucket account so that the minute your boy arrives you can post some pics for us!

Yes, I've come up with a name, but plan to let him introduce himself in a thread when he gets here. For personal reasons, I really don't want a photobucket account.

There was a little dragon at the PetSmart here who was really friendly and I was planning to get her once the setup was complete, but they sold her before I was ready.

I'll be decorating his new home this weekend. And expect pictures on Wednesday!

Oh, my mis-trake. I was thinking of facebook. I do have a photobucket account. Sorry about that.

His hammock is being shipped and it's scheduled to be here on Wednesday afternoon. He should be arriving on Wednesday morning. I'll be leaving in an hour or so to get some sort of decorative backing for his cage and a few more odds and ends so he'll be a happy beardie.

Any idea what morph he is?

Yea for personal reasons I don't have a facebook either! Shopping for your new beardie...super fun! I have no idea about morphs, could you email bloodbank and ask them? I have been on their website several times and it really seems they know their stuff. Maybe they could tell you. All I know is you are gonna be crazy in love with this dragon. He has a sweet face...can't wait for you to get to snuggle him!

Oh, I can't wait to get my first beardie snuggle!

I just got back from the Farmer's Market with turnip and mustard greens, butternut squash, a cactus pad (stuck myself a few times, LOL) and some fresh bell peppers. He'll also get to taste the basil I've been growing. I got a 24" Repti Sun 10.0 at the pet store, and it was $20 more than the one on line that should be here the evening of the day he arrives, but at least the temps will be figured out by then with the other one and it never hurts to have an extra on hand. I got him two jars of natural bearded dragon food pellets for emergency use, that scenery paper that goes around the outside of the tank, a cute little veggie serving dish with a cover that's just right for his veggies, and the music to Puff the Magic Dragon so I can play it for him on the harp.

Anything else he needs?
