Took my dragon to the vet today because his poop has been very watery the past couple of days and he has an injury on his tail that I wasn't sure about it. My dragon is a rescue and I was told that he was about 2 years old when I got him. He was 12.5 inches long, in a 40g breeder with sand substrate and a basking lamp. They were feeding him 4-5 crickets a day and greens; I suspect lettuce. I have had him for about 3 months now and he has grown almost an inch and a half. I did not weigh him when I got him, but I know he has gained weight as the base of his tail is much fatter. The vet weighed him in at 153 grams. Checked his tail and said that we would have to wait and see if he was going to loose it at the injury. And, gave me Mettronidazole for Flagellates. So, for the next 10 days I get to force Draco to take his medicine, this should be fun. He also mentioned that he probably has MBD based on his size and age and the shape of his head. He suspects that improper lighting by his previous owner is the most likely cause. Overall, though, Draco is in good shape and healthy but will not get any bigger. I'm happy that he is healthy and glad that I got him when I did because I doubt he would have lasted much longer with his previous owner.
