Thats just life.
Its unrealistic to expect everyone to conform to one "standard" of posting, there are many different types of people on this board, and I honestly don't think that people asking questions are really bothered by a long post. When I have questions that I post I get excited to see someone even took the time to post on my thread.

Honestly, if it ever gets to a point where "we" all have to answer questions a certain way, and sugar coat our replies because we are more worried about keeping a member here instead of potentially saving a beardie, well.. It will be a sad day.
Yea, i'm not one who will sugar coat to make it seem like 'ooh its not so bad just do this and this and this'. Not everyone appreciates it but thats who I am, and when it gets down to it, its still helping that person.

Just my 2 cents...i didn't come out and ask the question but when i got my beardie i was planning on breeding her. I read on here the health complications that could happen and decided it wasn't worth risking her health.

As for answering only questions asked...if we see someone with a poor setup, should we wait until they ask the question "what's wrong with my beardie" ?

I would certainly want to know before my beardie gets sick that i'm doing something that could be a health risk.

I completely agree! I feel that if there is something wrong the person should be told about it, especially someone new to bearded dragons. Why cause both the own and dragon suffering when you can stop it before it starts, or gets to bad to correct. I think people who can't understand that there are problems with their set up that the might need to change are not putting their pets first and that is the responsibility you take on when you take them home. Some people fail to realize that these animals depend on you to know what they need, they can't tell you when something is wrong you have to know before or as soon as it starts.

... BUT if we can't do it with tact, the owner will write us off as eccentrics and continue caring for the dragon in the same manner.

Just "ask jeeves" for "straight forward" answers. This is called a community forum for a reason, if people are going to do whatever they wan  t in the firstplace, why would they be posting questions in the first place? Looks like your preaching to me...

If people come here asking a question about breeding, and in the process we find the dragon has MBD, then royally chew out this person he is going to leave the community and never change what he does for his dragon.

Theres a difference between preaching/teaching and being rude.

If someone is doing something wrong and the dragons life is at risk, its not preaching to tell them what theyre doing wrong even if they werent asking a question about that particular thing.

Its rude when immature ppl call said person an ***** for doing that something wrong.

I think you and I are talking in circles. My whole point is that we need to be more respectful on these boards (not everyone, but several posts I have seen lately show a total disrespect for the OP). I am not saying don't help people, I am just saying do it with respect and tact. I believe you are trying to make the same point just in different words?

I was referring to the title "just answer the questions" and u complaining about ppl preaching about things that werent asked in the original post.

LOL I am uncertain why there is some back and forth between you two. You both seem to be on the same side of this discussion. Interpretations of the words said seem to be what is amiss here not the ideas behind them. Now hug and make up  LOL JK

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
