Im New to beardies and ive had stubble about 3 weeks he ate some yesterday and hasnt eaten at all today....i use zoo med reptile carpet and repti glo 26 w 10.0 UVB compact ive been told i need another type of uvb bulb i have a thermometer in the cage that reads 80ish on the cool side and 100-105 on the warm he hasnt been basking today at all only sleeping under his basking rock he is shedding again but it has never effected his diet and hes really lethargic today which is out of the ordinary any help? am i just be over worrisome? he had a bowel movement today and one yesterday is drinking water and had a soak today as well. but he hasnt eaten at all today and only ate 1 meal worm last night wont even touch his salad or crixs today hes roughly 8 1/2 inches long i just got the UVB buld yesterday and got rid of sand yesterday as well hes in a 20 gal aquarium (posting a pic) im starting to worry a bit

I did post in your other thread. I thought we solved this issue? Buy the reptisun 10.0 uv bulb and see how that goes. Mealies I think you know now are not good even as treats.

yea i know that but i havent had time to get to the store 12hour days and he hasnt eaten AT ALL

Beardies can go i believe a few days/weeks (don't quote me please) without food. However joyce had a hunger strike a few months back. She ate about 1 cricket a week. It lasted 1 and a half weeks. Suddenly, the next day, she ate around 30 crix. Just remember to buy the bulb!

yea im sending my Gf tomorrow these over nighters are making it hard to get to the pet store....i need to get him taken care off (also did u see the heating lamp on the top? it holds 2 bulbs i have one basking and the uvb is that ok?)

I've honestly never seen anyone do that setup. It doesn't look to be harmful. You might want others input on this however.

kk keep in mind this is a TEMP he'll be in a 40 gal soon enough just no room right now and no real need yet hes still a wee baby but yea what do you suggest for housing like...for him to sleep in??

Let me just say this...the more you change his cage setting, the more stress. So it is good to change around the lighting, but try not to change other cage features.

They go through relocation stress, and you can give baby food squash and chicken mixed together with vit and cal, and give it to them on the tip of the nose/mouth with a baby syringe.

yea i know they do but im moving which is when i plan on changing his cage getting it all out of the way at once he'll be in this for a while and baby food even at his age?

The best fluorescent uvb to use is the Reptisun 10 tube, not any compact or coil as those sold in the US aren't really very good, uvb output wise. I've used these before and like them. Now we have gone to the 60 watt eb mega ray setup.

The repti glo 26 w 10.0 UVB compact Needs to Go now. That is most likely what is causing your problem. You want the reptisun 10.0 UVB. Also what type of therometer are you using?

I use four compact uv bulbs in my tank (tis a large one) I have no problems. We had a worm issue that caused her to not eat and blah blah but it had nothing to do with the lighting. I like the look of your set-up. I agree on the relocation stress or some kind of stress. I had to move Sierra's tank to an area in my house with less traffic, since then it has been going a lot better. I agree with the not changing stuff a lot at first. I know you have ideas and there is nothing more entertaining than tank set ups but I assure you its worth waiting!

Yeah, change the bulb get the 10.0 Tube.. How long has he been under the light? might be a good idea to go ahead and get a fecal ran too just incase.

Yep baby food is wonderful for them at any age. I use squash and pea put some on their nose and they will lick it up. I see you use those little pellets might as well not use those not a one of mine will even go near those. For fresh veggies what are you using? Mustard,colard,turnip greens are super great for them.

Ive tried a few bulbs. I have to say i think the Reptisun 10 bulb is the safest to use. With all the issues the others have been having. I'll stick to my trusty ole reptiSUN 10.

I used a 20 gal for two of mine when they were little it was really hard to get their temps right. It would either be way to hot or to cool. Ended up having to use a house hold 75 watt bulb to get it at 106f witch is just right for a baby beardie. Do you check your temps?

Hes Back to his old ways again thanks for the help! i havent had a chance to get the lights but hes chomping down crix like theres no tomorrow!!! but my 12 hour days are over so yea ill have the new lamps quickly he even jumped onto my hand today when feeding! hes back lol
