ok guys im going to upload some pictures but first of all i think this page and this community is great for bearded dragon information and help so thank you all again for every single piece if info you put in here it really helps alot ... ok back to business my big boy his name is tyson he is about 6 - 6 1/2 month his temps are doing good stating around 77-80 on the cool side and 100 - 105 on the hotter side this past couple of days i been turning off my infrared at night i heard that it can mess with there sleep and not only that can damage theyre eyesight so i just turn it on in the morning so the temps can get right and then turn it off for the rest of the day unless if he temps randomly drop or anything wierd at all like that am i doing it right anything i should know anything sifferent i should do ..

next question i know i have sand in his lttle mansion and im going to be removing it from and replacing it either with reptile carpet or just newspapers do you guys recommend the CHE's ? or what do you guys recomemded i currently have a 100w basking buld and im using herpetat II

and last question im trying to get him to eat greens more than live food he has always eaten crickets and mealworms im currently buying the dried omnivore mix that you mix with warm water for about 5-7mins but i try giving him some from hand he will eat 2-3 bites but then wont see him eat only yesterday he did eat one of the greens but that was it other than that nothing at all

any information you can give me or tell me anything to do differently will be greatly appreciated especially from big boy tyson he sends hos thanks in advance

Hi there, he is for sure a nice big boy, nicely proportioned and healthy looking. Yes you are correct to get rid of the red light, and you only need a CHE if the temp. goes below 67 at night. Do you have screen top cage ? If so, it might be better to set his heat lamp on top....when it's close like that it can burn them.

What type of uvb bulb do you have ? Is it a 100 watt Powersun mercury vapor bulb ?

The omnivore blend is probably O.K, but your beardie will definitely benefit more from fresh veg like turnip, mustard, collard greens , arugula, dandelion, squash, green beans. Try any or all of those to see if he'll go for them. He'll still need live food, but it's good to get him to eat veggies now.

hey AHBD thanks for your reply me and tyson greatly appreaciate it currently the baskig light i have for him is one i bought for petsmart i think its zoomed if im not mistaken and its 100w im goig to upload the opening on the top of my viv to see if you think i should move the lights up there .. and i also removed the sand and replaced it with news paper and what has me worried some times that he is probably getting to hot and the lights are too close because of how he is hiding pictures below

my Kahleesi loves her salad I use dandelion greens red peppers her favorite squash and sweet potatoes bok choy if I cant find dandelion greens and carrots ,she will literally dig threw her salad for the red peppers and dandelion green I also cut the squash to look stringy like a worm but I can honestly say have had no problems with salad since the day we got her
