Jumping Into Walls?

I usually sit at my computer desk with my beardie letting him crawl on me where he pleases and he ALWAYS tries to get to my shoulder to make a leap of faith at my wall, he tries to do it all the time and after noticing it once i pick him up and put him back away from my shoulder. Does my beardie have no depth perception, or is he just a little overzealous? xD

I think it is less about depth perception and more about the urge to explore and general fearlessness that some beardies have.

My girl Dex would frequently enjoy the "leap of faith" from my knee to one of my open desk drawers.
To this day I have no idea how she ever lept so far!
She had missed the mark plenty of times but still continued with her favourite "launch pad" even knowing the risk.

Ruben however is a clinger who will CLAMP onto me for dear life if he is elevated in anyway. He's a big fraidy cat.

I wouldnt imagine your baby will learn his lesson any time soon but you are better to keep an eye on him. Landing badly from even a small leap can leave you with a badly injured or broken dragon. Try to discorage him from the shoulder leaping and learn his "ima gonna jump" signs. Dex would always wiggle her tail before she jumped so I would usually have time to stop the little minx.

mine turns her head sharp and glares in one direction... kind of like what my dogs do before they jump the fence to play with the neighbor dogs.. but, I can't call Spot to come back - I have to crawl on the floor at dragon-eye-view.
