Its that time..... PUBERTY!

Hi guys! It has been a long time since I have posted, but thats only because Mushu has grown from an adorable 5 inches to a whopping 16 inches long with no problems whatsoever!

Now... puberty. Mushu is around 10 or 11 months old now and HATES EVERYTHING. Some examples:

- He doesn't want more than a couple bites of salad and a couple bugs a day. When he was a baby, he ate probably 1/4 cup of salad and 20 bugs each day. The salad part is what I'm concerned about, since he's almost an adult and doesn't need as many bugs anymore.

- He poops once every week or two. He used to be an every other day pooper.

- He doesn't want to be held. He just wants to run around. He used to watch TV with me for hours!

- Whenever I go to put him back in his tank, he scratches and flails around and tries to jump right back out. BUT when I go to get him out in the first place, he holds on for dear life.

- He has started black-bearding my dog that he's known since Day 1

- He black-beards me when I take him outside

- He black-beards me when I take him in the car with me (in a large container with a towel, not ever loose)


Any thoughts or shared experiences??

Sounds about right. There isn't much to do except wait out this phase. Sometimes it helps to give them free reign of an area of the house to burn off some energy but aside from that I'm not sure what else to do with them actively.

mine is not there yet. squishy is only a year, and he never showed any signs of puberty xD
is my dragon different from the others XDDD

well hopefully that's all that's going in with mine. mine acts almost same way and hates all food offered right now

Linus hasn't started the teenage sulks yet either, and hes a year and a half already.

Update: Mushu now pubescent AND shedding. His eating habits are still weird, he is only eating things that are green.

Earlier tonight I guess Mushu got wigged out at my boyfriend, Doug, going to pet him too quickly while I was holding him and he booped Doug's finger with his nose. Not sure if that was like a warning, he was going to snap and was too slow, or if he just went to look up at Doug and didn't see Doug's hand moving towards him? No idea, but it was super cute. Freaked Doug out for a second but he tried to pet him again successfully right after Weirdo
