Hello. I have a one year old beardie. When I first got her, I had her Reptisun 10.0 UVB bulb mounted on top of the screen cover of her 40 gallon breeder in a Zoomed Reptisun fixture with a reflector. About 4 months ago or so, I read that it should be mounted inside of the enclosure so I bought an under-cabinet mounting fixture and mounted it inside of her enclosure on the back wall. After doing this I've begun to notice that her head and upper back are repeatedly peeling and the skin is getting darker like after a sunburn. Should I move the light back on top if the cage? Here us picture of what the cage looks like- http://i.imgur.com/V8lbtS9.jpghttp://i. ... 8lbtS9.jpg . Should I maybe remove the log? She likes to sit on it under her UVB. It gets her to within 6" of the bulb which is what was recommended. I don't know what to do at this point, whether I should be concerned or not. The skin doesn't really look red or anything. Would the reflector on the Zoomed fixture compensate for the blockage of the screen cover? What are your thoughts?
