TIP: Most Bug Farms ship with a Raw Potatoe as hydration and most people use a fresh one for continued hydration as well.... in addition, most people will seek assitance that over the years their bearded dragon has lost interest in the insect. I have found that replacing the RAW POTATOE with a fresh Orange CUT IN HALF sweetens the cricket 10x more than a bland potatoe.... The Crix stay interested in devouring the fruit and stay more hydrated... And the best reward is when your Dragon NEVER gets tired of the monotony of being fed Crickets on a daily Basis.

**** Always important to Gutload your Crickets and dust them with a D3 Calcium Dust Suppliment prior to feeding them to your Dragon as well!

Thats really interesting. I don't feed crickets, haven't in years but I bet this applies to all insects you would normally feed before giving to the dragon. I know with the roaches I normally feed a dry cricket food and the dragons sometimes go off them too, I'll have to try oranges next time it happens.

Cool! Would this work with other feeders too (like superworms)? Or could you squeeze oranges over their salad?
Dudley is being a picky eater, and he LOVES anything fruity and sweet tasting, so I'm trying to find ideas LOL.

Ornages, Apples, Pears all work fine for me. I havent tried squuezing Orange all over their salad due to the fact that all of mine eat greens well... And you may create a habit of having to do that ALL OF THE TIME.

I just prefer to Hydrate my bugs with sweet and nutritous/Organic fruit to enhance the taste of the bug for the lizard!

Sweet potato
Romaine lettuce
Tropical fish food
Soaked rabbit pellets
Cat and dog food.

Oranges and apples are ok just watch how much citrus your beardie takes in vegetables are much better.
And change what you use weekly to keep the taste different

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
