Is this shedding normal?

Hey there! Newbie to the forum.

My uromastyx (Maurice) was shedding when I got him, and the pet store owner told me that these white patches on his back were part of the shedding process. I don't have a basis of comparison, so does this look normal to fellow lizard owners?

Since I'm new to being a uromastyx owner, I just wanted to double-check that Maurice doesn't have a skin infection or anything.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hi TJ,

That is a bit odd, but it does appear to just be shed. There is no distortion to it and it doesn't look fungal at all. Doesn't even look damaged or injured. Just a weird shed I'd say.

I can feel her staring into my soul demanding food
She was having a staring contest with a mealworm. I guess I never taught her to not play with her food, lol.
bro went to bed already, it’s 10:36 pm
Definitely going to be using this image if I ever catch a fence lizard again.
