Hey I just got a repti therm heat pad 30-40g. And i am planning on breeding Dubia roaches with a plastic container. I have been watching some vids and reading some stuff and people usually use heat pads for breeding. Is this safe/will it catch fire? And what heat do you guys use for breeding roaches? ty for all comments  !

I'm not familiar with that brand but I do use a large heat pad for my dubia, I prefer to stick it on the side instead of underneath so it won't get as hot.

I have a human heat pad without the auto shutoff feature and it works fine but you can go to walmart and get the accurite temp/hygrometer and put the probe at the bottom and measure the temps, if they are too high your roaches will be towards top of egg crates and you will know that your heat pad is too hot.

Can a heat pad melt through the plastic, cuz I don't want roaches running

Im not sure really my pad doesn't get hot enough like mine sits about 95 degrees on high with tub directly on it but I know the ceremic heat emitters can.

Most of the heating pads made for reptiles specifically state not to apply them to plastic. I would not recommend one unless you were going to heat a glass aquarium. Most heating pads that people reference for heating roach bins are human heating pads, without the auto-shutoff. I believe they all have a bi-metal thermostat in case they get too hot.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
