I'm thinking about turning an old bunkbed into an enclosure. It's a homemade one with a full sized bottom and a twin top. If I put plywood on the sides and back with a plexiglass front would that work? I'm talking about just making the bottom into an enclosure not the top.

Yup it would work. You just want to seal/paint the wood that is going to be exposed in the enclosure.
